An Instacart Shopper is an independent contractor who shops for and delivers groceries to customers from local stores. Instacart, the company, connects customers with shoppers to deliver fresh groceries to their doors.
How Instacart Shopper works
Instacart uses technology to give customers access to their favorite stores online, so they can order groceries from anywhere. As an independent contractor, you use your own vehicle to handle deliveries and pay for your own maintenance and fuel.
Instacart offers two shopper opportunities:
Full-Service Shopper – receive orders through the app and then shop and deliver groceries to the customer’s door. As a Full-service shopper, you shop and deliver the customer orders. You can select hours based on your schedule.
In-Store Shopper – review orders, shop, and bag the groceries in-store before moving on to the next order. As an In-store shopper, you hand select customer orders in-store and bag for pickup. You get to set your own schedule.
